How to enable data transfer in nokia

Often users of Windows Phone-based smartphones, in particular Lumia (formerly Nokia Lumia), have a question how to set up the Internet on these devices. The interface of these phones is a bit unusual compared to those familiar to all Android or iOS, which confuses the newly-made owners of Lumiy. However, setting up the Internet on Lumiya is no more difficult than on any other smartphone.

Algorithm for setting up the Internet on Lumia

  1. The first step is to enable mobile data.  To do this, go to the phone settings and select “Network and Wireless”“Cellular Network and SIM Card”  and move the slider to the on position.
  2. The second step is to create an APN access point.
Open the phone menu and go to "Settings"“Network and Wireless”“Cellular Network and SIM Card”"SIM card settings» → Internet access point  - select item “Add Internet Access Point”.

To create a new access point, you will need to enter data in 4 fields, two of which are required. You can find the necessary parameters below. Select your carrier from the list and enter the settings in the appropriate fields of your Lumiya. In field "Connection Name"  write the name of your mobile operator, although you can specify any other arbitrary name.

Parameters of access points depending on the operator:

So, it turns out, it's easy and simple to set up the Internet for Lumiya.

How to set up the Internet on Nokia Lumiya 630?

The menus of some Nokia phone models can be very different from each other, although they work under the same operating system. This may be confusing for some users. And since in the comments to this article the question was asked how to set up the Internet on the Nokia Lumiya 630, let me dwell on it in more detail.

We configure the Internet on Nokia Lumiya 630 Dual SIM:

  • Enable data transfer.
Select menu item "Settings"“Cellular Network + SIM”"Data transfer"(Here you need to move the slider to the" on "position). Here we go to the item “SIM card for data transfer”  and select the SIM card that is preferred for accessing the Internet (Sim1 or Sim 2)
  • Create an access point.
Go back to the menu "Settings"“Cellular Network + SIM”“SIM card settings 1”  (or 2 - you need to select the SIM card for which data transfer is turned on) → "Add Internet Access Point". We enter the necessary data in the appropriate fields (for each telecom operator, their settings, see point 2 from the beginning of the article). We save the changes, restart the smartphone and enjoy life)))

If you have a Nokia Lumiya 630 with one SIM card, then setting up the Internet is even easier:

Open menu "Settings"“Connection Profile Settings”"Add new profile". We fill in the fields (paragraph 2 from the beginning of the article) and do not forget to save the changes made and restart the phone. All! Internet is set up!

I think that now you can easily configure the Internet on Lumiya phones yourself.

In this article we will look how on Nokia Lumia to completely turn off the Internetso as not to withdraw money from the account. In the same way, you can turn on the Internet on the Nokia Lumia 1520 and similar Lumia smartphones.

Do not know where the money goes from your account to Lumiya, although you do not use the Internet? Basically, money is removed from the number for the Internet from your phone. You may not even suspect that your Lumia uses the Internet, since this process may not be noticeable, and if you are not particularly versed in smartphones, then you will not be able to find out at all that the smartphone itself uses the Internet. All modern phones, smartphones, tablets and other devices use the Internet, as they automatically update applications, operating system, time and much more. If you bought a Luma smartphone and want to use the Internet, then I recommend connecting to unlimited Internet, or your Lumia will quickly finish the money in your account, and perhaps even make the debt on your number worse. I know that some tariff plans allow you to use communication, including the Internet, until a debt in your account of several thousand rubles is formed, and it’s better to immediately turn off the Internet if you have no limit until your Lumia has eaten all the money and the number has gone to minus. Below you can find how to prohibit the use of the Internet by the phone in the Lumia settings.

So that completely disable the Internet on Lumia  open "Settings" further "system" further "cellular network +? SIM" (mobile network +? SIM) and you need to set the Data transfer parameter to Off. If you need to turn on the Internet on Lumia, then set the value for the Data transfer Enabled parameter.

You can also turn off the Internet in Lumia when roaming, so that when traveling there is automatically a ban on the use of the Internet by phone. Open "Settings" further "system" further "cellular network +? SIM" (mobile network +? SIM) and you need to set the value for Data transfer settings in roaming to not use in roaming. If you use unlimited Internet throughout the country, then you can not turn off the Internet when roaming, and if you have already turned off, then simply change the value to Use in roaming.

  • I hope this article helped you and you could   disable or enable internet on Nokia Lumia 1520  and similar Lumia phones.
